Olympic athletes aren’t the only ones going for the gold this week. Indeed, Ernie Els just received a gold Odyssey White Hot XG #1 putter to commemorate his victory at the British Open, per Odyssey’s tradition of presenting gold replicas to major tournament winners who use Odyssey putters.
The accompanying photo shows Els checking out his dazzling new flatstick. For more on Odyssey’s gold program, check out our earlier story originating from our insider’s tour of Odyssey Golf.
Two weeks ago, PutterZone.com was the first outlet to note the wicked run of tour success by Odyssey’s White Hot line of putters.
Now comes word from Odyssey that three White Hot putters were victorious on tour over the past weekend alone. Keegan Bradley used a White Hot XG Sabertooth to win the WGC-Bridgestone, while a White Hot XG #1 was used to win the PGA Tour’s Reno-Tahoe Open and a White Hot 2-Ball long putter was used to win the Champions Tour’s TPCTwin Cities tournament.
Apparently, there’s hot, then there’s white hot.
