Continuing our ongoing preview of the 2012 PGA Merchandise show, we now turn our attention to the new SB1 Platinum putter by the SeeMore Putter Company.
The SeeMore SB1 mallet is milled from 6061 aerospace aluminum. The original SB1 features an anodized black finish, while the new version released this week features a platinum finish for a more traditional look.
The SB1’s 335-gram head features three weight ports that come with pre-installed weight cartridges that create a total head weight of 360 grams. One or more of the weights can be removed with an allen wrench to customize the head weight. The weight ports bisect a raised spine along the crown of the putter. This spine gives the putter more of a center-weighted design, which is amplified when the weights are installed.
The SB1 also features SeeMore’s signature RifleScope alignment system. A red dot on the rear crown of the putter is visually hidden by a blackened lower shaft when proper setup is achieved. Two parallel white lines frame the shaft to provide a further indication that the golfer is in position to make a consistent and reliable stroke.
According to SeeMore, “The SB1 and SB2 platinum milled putters are fast becoming some of our most requested head shapes on tour, particularly in the new belly versions.”
The SB1 Platinum putter costs $250, and is available starting this week. At the point of purchase, you can choose from a wide range of personal putter fitting options, including length, lie angle, grip and head cover. The belly version costs $275, and comes with a heavier head weight of 390 grams with the weights installed.
