Steve Stricker survived an up-and-down weekend and a rain delay to win the Memorial tournament by one stroke. Stricker birdied six of the first nine holes on Sunday, but needed some clutch putts on the back nine to secure the victory.
Steve Stricker’s putter is an Odyssey White Hot #2 putter, a Zing-style blade with a short goose-neck hosel.
Odyssey’s White Hot line has been, well, white hot lately. Graeme McDowell, Stuart Appelby and Luke Donald are among the professionals who have won with an original White Hot or White Hot XG putter over the past year.
Known as one of the better putters on tour, Stricker remarked, “I feel good when I’ve got the putter in my hand.”
It’s interesting to note that Stricker’s bag is otherwise loaded with Titleist gear. But with the putter accounting for more strokes than any other club, brand loyalty often goes out the window in favor of personal affinities—such as looks, feel and feedback—that can make all the difference.
Can you still buy a White Hot #2 putter or has it been replaced by the White Ice #2? Are they the same size face and inlay?
Thank you
Probably hard to find a new White Hot at this point, so the White Ice may be your best bet. Not sure if they’re the exact same dimensions on the face and insert with the White Ice, looks close!
