The latest episode of The Greenside is now airing at The Hacker’s Paradise, and is also available for download on iTunes (just search “THP Radio”).
The Greenside is a collaboration between Sean of PutterZone.com and Josh of The Hacker’s Paradise. True to its name, the show focuses on the short game, with an emphasis on putters and putting.
In this episode, we delve into the TaylorMade Spider Vicino putter, the role of offset in putter fitting, and the usage of insert putters vs. non-insert putters on the professional circuits.
As always, we invite your feedback and suggestions, and encourage you to spread the word to your golfing friends.
Interesting discussion. It seems like someone could do an entire course on offset/onset, shaft position in relation to CG, toe hang and any other general putter balance design points. It's a fine art.
I love the insert vs. non-insert discussion too. The White Hot insert that Josh loves has got to be the worst insert I've ever used! 🙂
Feel is nearly 100% sound, but it's also results. I don't swing my putter very hard and if I have an insert softening the blow even more, it causes all kinds of distance problems for me.
Great episode.
Thanks for your feedback, Ben, good stuff. I agree about the "art" of putters, it's quite fascinating to consider how all of these various factors intersect at the point of performance and/or perception.
And thanks for your supporting stats, too!
I was looking at this putter for a long time but never decided to buy it. I didn't think that I needed it. I got the Taylormade Rossa Daytona 1 instead and it's great!
